5 Essential Hair Tools
This week’s post is all about the hair tools you should most definitely have in your possession! These tools are for anyone with hair! They are life savers and hair savers, for that matter.
1. Wet Brush
Okay, if you don’t have a wet brush already… Your life is about to change dramatically!! You think I am kidding, but this brush will save your hair and your poor scalp. In their words, “With its unique IntelliFlex™ bristles, the Wet Brush runs effortlessly through hair, detangling without pulling or tugging. There’s no pain, no tears–whether the hair is wet from the shower or dry; curly or straight; thick or fine. Finally, the tears (and curses) stopped.” It really does make a huge difference when brushing out your hair. When your hair is wet, it is in its most fragile state, so no more ripping through the knots! We have these at the salon and they are only $12!
2. A Ceramic Curling Iron
We all curl our hair, right? Pretty much, no matter what the heat associated with the process can do more harm than good. Certain materials, such as ceramic, can curtail this damage by providing the minimal heat that is necessary to achieve the curl while releasing negative ions that combat a good deal of the damage that regular curling irons cause. You can get a ceramic curling iron from your hair dresser, if you ask them, I am sure they would be able to get you one from the beauty supply. If not, you can always try amazon, they sell Hot Tools Irons, which are mostly ceramic, but make sure you are getting the actual ceramic iron.
3. Heat Protectant
Piggy Backing off the last one, we do a lot of heat damage to our hair… probably every day. The best thing you can do for your hair is to invest in a heat protectant. These products basically create a shield over your hair so the heat will burn the product off of your hair first, before burning your hair. We sell multiple at the salon. Bumble and Bumble makes a few and Kerastase makes a couple as well. Talk to your stylists to see which one would suit your hair best!
4. A Teasing Comb
If you do a lot of styling and/ or teasing, you have got to get a teasing comb! Teasing our hair can sometimes lead to breakage if you aren’t doing it correctly. The teasing comb makes sure that when you tease, you are going about it in a good fashion. It also helps a bunch when you are trying to brush out your tease or brushing out curls! These guys are only $6 at the Salon!
5. A Scrunchie!
Yes, I am totally serious! When we sleep, we rub our hair all over the pillow, which ultimately leads to damage! Putting your hair up with a scrunchie at night, helps prevent that breakage from happening. Also, if you wear your hair up a lot for work or working out, etc. Try using a scrunchie sometimes. It can help with any headaches that may occur from keeping your hair up and again, helps prevent breakage from the constant strain regular hair ties can put on our hair.
